Practical engineering support behind real rail projects.
Our work
Experience where it matters: on site
Our recent projects showcase the practical, on‑site delivery behind Hannon Engineering — real projects where our engineering support has helped clients keep programmes moving safely and efficiently. Each example highlights how we work, the challenges we solve and the standards we uphold across the rail network.
October 2026
Project Embrace – Route clearance
Hannon Engineering planned and delivered the removal of over 500t of scrap rail from the operational infrastructure. Along with a further 1000t of waste material removed from operational yards and off-track locations. Working alongside NR Maintenance teams and utilising existing access, over 150 miles of track were scoped, and a strategy planned & implemented for the burning & recovery of the waste material.
July 2026
Tackley Station
The team responded to a short-notice request to deliver the full CRT arrangements for a client’s works at Tackley Station. Acting as CRT Co-ordinator, Hannon Engineering installed remote thermometers, completed the site CRT assessments, and monitored track temperatures throughout the consolidation period. Daily Management Reports were produced and issued, with regular liaison maintained to keep the client fully informed at every stage of the project.

Anglia re-railing framework
Hannon Engineering provides CRE support and site delivery engineers for a key client on the Anglia re-rail framework. Acting on behalf of our client as CRE we provide engineering leadership for the safe and compliant delivery of track renewal and re-railing works. Our role involves overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards, managing engineering risk, and coordinating site teams and stakeholders to deliver works safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
